The (Content) King is Dead

It used to be that if you poured your heart and soul into creating and delivering presentation content--and lots of it--we were convinced that the job was done.  Fast-forward to the 21st Century when we are discovering that our slide decks need to look good as well.  A postage-stamp sized bit of Microsoft clip art inserted into the blank corner of a slide on top of a jazzy freeware template is not going to cut it any more.  Audiences expect more.  Learners need more.  PowerPoint and Keynote are visual media and require an understanding of the language of visual communication--a language not unlike Spanish or French--that possesses its own set of "grammatical" rules that need to be followed in order to create meaning that supports or enhances your message.
